The Parish of Minety lies approximately six miles south of the market town of Cirencester; this small rural community is a delightful mix of village houses, ancient farms and beautiful open countryside. Its close proximity to the towns of Cirencester, Malmesbury and Cricklade ensures an ideal lifestyle; the peace and tranquillity of the country yet within easy reach of the every day essentials of modern life.

The area can trace its roots back to Roman times, the nearby River Thames has throughout history ensured that local settlements and trading posts continued to thrive. Although Minety was essentially a farming community, the nearby market towns owe their wealth and stylish architecture to wool, a prosperous trade that continued to flourish well into the nineteenth century.

Today Minety continues to prosper, careful planning sees ancient buildings sit easily alongside more modern design, ensuring that a true village

flavour is still retained. The village has its own excellent primary school and mother and toddler group, whilst senior schooling in all sectors can be found just a short drive away. This close knit community have their fingers very much on the pulse when it comes to sport. There is a local squash club a thriving rugby club with an excellent reputation in both the senior and junior leagues, and competition for all ages is very much on the agenda at the first class Minety Lawn Tennis Club.

Living within easy reach of three towns ensures that the pace and lifestyle of this rural location is idyllic. Cricklade has a good range of local shops, whilst the ancient towns of Malmesbury and Cirencester offer something a little different, there is a choice of supermarkets and top high street names jostle for business alongside individual designer boutiques. There are museums and art galleries and of course the architectural gems of Cirencester Church and Malmesbury Abbey. On a more relaxed note both towns offer an excellent choice of pubs, restaurants, wine bars and street cafes well suited to every pocket and every taste.

The area surrounding Minety positively overflows with pastimes, the nearby waterpark at Ashton Keynes is home to 140 lakes, 100 miles of walks, bridleways and cycleways, 74 fishing lakes and enough watersports to whet any appetite - sailing, windsurfing, jetskiing,waterskiing and canoeing. For lovers of music the famous arboretum atWestonbirt plays host to the very best performers in the world of pop, opera and classical music. The southern tip of the Cotswolds is a short drive from the village, here there is easy access to beautiful mellow stone villages, ancient houses, castles and the beautiful spa town of Cheltenham renowned for its festivals. The cities of Bath and Bristol are also within easy driving distance; both offer the ultimate shopping experience and to round off the day a relaxing evening at the many excellent theatres.
